Your games and analysis
Stockfish runs on your device, inside your browser. Pasted PGN text, board positions and analysis results are held in the page’s memory. This version does not create an account for you or save your game history. Analysis scores are recomputed on your device when a review is reopened.
The review URL includes a compressed copy of your PGN, the selected move and board orientation in the part after #. You can reopen or share this URL. That part is not sent to our server in HTTP requests, but it remains in your browser history and is available to scripts running on this page. Anyone you share the link with can read the game.
We use the game information you provide to perform the review you request. We do not intentionally include your PGN text in advertising requests.
Chess.com and Lichess imports
When you submit a game link, the site’s server requests the public game from Chess.com or Lichess. The game ID and the server’s network address are involved in that request. Imported public games may be kept temporarily in server memory to avoid repeated downloads; entries are replaced as the cache fills and are cleared when the server restarts.
For PGNs containing a Chess.com game link, player names and a game date, your browser may request that player’s public monthly archive from Chess.com to find an existing accuracy score. Chess.com receives the requested public username/date and your network address. We check that the complete move sequence matches before using the score.

Shared usage totals
The counter records completed reviews. It increases at most once per IP address every 10 seconds. The server uses keyed IP hashes to enforce this cooldown and bind review IDs; raw IP addresses are not saved by the counter. Review IDs and their hashes expire after 14 days. Request-rate limits use short-lived IP records in memory. No PGNs or player names are sent to the counter.
Storage on your device
Your sound preference is saved on this device.
Google’s consent platform remembers choices using its own cookies or local storage and its configured retention settings. Cookie Settings can reopen those choices, and browser site-data controls can remove saved records. Any first-party privacy preference on this site has a retention period of up to 180 days.
The shared usage counter does not use tracking cookies. Advertising spaces do not depend on a saved cookie preference.
Advertising
Advertising spaces are always enabled. This site includes the Google AdSense Auto ads script using publisher ID ca-pub-1073205044570380. Google controls ad eligibility and placement according to the account’s approval status and Auto ads settings. Localhost ad previews do not generate revenue.
The Google script loads to initialize advertising and its published consent message. Ad requests start paused. The site resumes them only after receiving the required state from Google’s certified consent platform. While requests are paused, additional scripts can load and existing Google-domain cookies may be read; Google states that no new cookies are set and existing cookie data is not used for ad delivery or measurement in that paused state.
When advertising is allowed, Google may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, browser/device information and related identifiers for ad delivery, personalization, measurement and fraud prevention. Information may be processed outside your country. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Google’s consent message manages optional advertising choices when it is published for this site. Cookie Settings provides a link to reopen those choices once the Google message is available. If the required consent platform is missing or its consent state is unavailable, this integration keeps ad requests paused.
Changing your choice
Use Cookie Settings and Manage Google ad partners to reopen Google’s consent message when available. While a new choice is being collected, ad requests are paused. Withdrawal stops new requests through this integration and removes existing Auto ads containers. Advertising spaces remain part of the page. A change cannot undo information already sent while permission was in place.
Your browser’s storage controls can remove saved choices. If storage is unavailable, the site keeps a preference only for the current page session.
Privacy requests
Contact stawarski.colin@gmail.com to ask about information associated with your use of Chess Analyzer or to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable. Game data that existed only in your browser and has already been cleared cannot be retrieved by us. You may also contact your local data protection authority about a privacy concern.
Changes to this policy
If data use changes, this page will be updated. A change to the consent-policy version requires a new privacy choice.
